How to have powerful prayers

praying Sometimes, if children are very good, they get a reward. Mom or dad will give them something special or maybe take them out for ice cream.

God promises that when his children try very hard to obey his commandments that they will have powerful prayers. That is a great reward!

A wonderful Creator guides us

petals The petals of a flower are amazing! Soft, alive, colorful, fragrant (they smell good!) and enjoyable. They remind us what a wonderful creator God is.

God made all of nature and all creatures. Imagine how smart he is! And if he made us, then he knows how to help and guide us.

Proverbs 3:5,6 are verses that teach us to trust him for guidance. They tell us not to trust our own understanding. This is hard to understand. Ask your parents to explain.

Humility helps us not to fall

PrayingHumility is an important word in the Bible. It is the opposite of PRIDE.

Many people quote the proverb, "Pride goes before a fall." Some may not realize it is from one of Solomon's proverbs: Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. (Prov. 16:18)

No one wants to be destroyed or to fall from God's favor. How can we be God's friends? We need humility. We need to be humble.

Humility is being modest in our opinion of ourselves. We should not think we are better than others. We should always praise God for all the good things that come into our lives rather than taking credit for them. He is in control of all things and all people.
